This policy explains what personal information The Shed, 2 Upper Marsh, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire ST5 0PU (“we”, “us”) collects through this website, why we collect it and what your rights are. We are the data controller for this information under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
- When you contact us: if you use the contact form we receive your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), the subject you choose and your message.
- When you book a table: table bookings are made through our booking partner, mysimpleerb (book.mysimpleerb.com). The details you enter there are handled under their own privacy policy, and they pass us what we need to manage your booking.
- When you email or call us: we keep the details you share so we can reply.
- Technical information: like most websites, our web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to keep the site secure and working.
Why we use it
We only use your information to answer your enquiry, manage bookings, private hire and events you ask us about, and keep the website secure. Our lawful bases are your request to us (steps before a contract or contract), and our legitimate interest in running and protecting our business. We never sell your information, and we will not send you marketing unless you have asked us to.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. It may set small technical cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work (for example to keep the contact form secure). The booking form, Google Maps, Instagram and Facebook are run by third parties; if you open them, they may set their own cookies under their own policies.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run the business and this website, such as our web host, our email provider and our booking partner. They may only use it to provide their service to us. We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your request, and normally no longer than 24 months afterwards, unless we need to keep them longer for legal or accounting reasons.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or move it to another organisation. To make a request, email us at [email protected] or call us on +44 1782 620983. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please talk to us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
